Author's Biography

Hello!  Thank you for visiting my blog today.  As you may have already surmised, I am an author, in search of finding time in the midst of a very busy stage in life to work in my craft.  I live in beautiful North Central Pennsylvania, where the cows outnumber people 20 to 1.  It is hilly, rural, and you would think very quiet and slow-paced.  I assure you that our current location has not slowed down our family life one iota!

I have been married to my dear, tolerant husband for over 26 years.  We have seven children, whom I home school.  I am also a Senior in Southern New Hampshire University, earning my B.A. in Creative Writing.  This spring marks my graduation from college, and my fourth child's graduation from High School.

In the midst of all of the home front chaos, I try to write.  I love to write fantasy and adventure novels, as well as spooky short stories,  some poetry, and devotions for everyday life based on Biblical principals and coated with humorous happenings I observe on the sly.  My goal is to write a little bit, five out of seven days.  Some days that is journal writing, some days it is a paper for school, and in the month of November, that is the 1667 quota for NaNoWriMo.  I have written and edited for  the online publication Odyssey, and more currently am a content contributor for Medium.  I have one book published, called Isotope, which is an adventure/mystery story.

One tip I have read over and over by big name authors is that writers need to write a lot and read a lot. How to make time for all this abundance of writing and reading is a challenge for me right now.  I know I am not alone in this, so I've started this blog to encourage other writers facing the same challenge whether due to family pressures, professional, or any other one of a thousand distractions that can divert us from our craft.

Viva la pluma!
